Our company's walk-for-a-cause this year was entitled "Walk for A Smile". PLDT has tied up with Operation Smile to come up with donations for the operation of 82 kids with cleft lip and palate. 82 kids in significance of the 82nd year aniversary of PLDT.
I first joined our company's annual "Lakaran" last year. Myke and I had so much fun that I was determined to participate again. After all, what's walking a few kilometers when you are able help out other people? :)

It's Myke's birthday today. I really, really wanted to cook something for him to show off.. errr.. to show how much I care him but I had to yield due to some limitations. So, I just helped out his mom in the kitchen and was literally switching from prepping ingredients for Myke's birthday fare to overseeing renovation of our room one floor down. The birthday boy wasn't exactly having a little R&R on his special day but was also being errand boy. It was a prettty long day just because the workers had to work overtime for the installation of the grills for our apartment. But going to sleep at around 1am, Myke and I were pretty happy. Myke was stuffed with the food we prepared and our room was slowly nearing its completion. Next year, we'd be able to celebrate our birthdays in our own home :) One special day. Hubby made me breakfast plus I didn't have to take out the pots and pans and start banging them for him to get up and out of bed. He started up and went about his 'chores' as soon as I woke up. Hmm... One special day. Another milestone. So, I thought that I want to be thankful for three wonderful things: 1) For the gift of a loving family and supportive friends. 2) For the gift of eternal love in the form of my hubby. 3) For the gift of LIFE. Another year has passed and more years to look forward to. Years to appreciate God's amazing work, to continue receiving His blessings, to love all that is with me, by me and of me. Cheers! Someone from the office was selling cutesy pens that are suitable for children's gifts this Christmas. I really wasn't interested on the fake Hello Kitties and the other fancy doodoos until I chanced on this - skull pens! They looked really cute and cool. And I was really happy that there were a pair of them! One was white, the other pink! So I immediately held on to them and paid up front.
You probably might be ready to puke already with the wedding related pictures and stories I've been posting lately so I thought to share something fun. But... still wedding related. Ha ha ha! Gotcha! Thing is the only whites you'd see here is not of my gown but of white clouds and sand. Yep, it's our honeymoon in Boracay! :D But before I go on, don't think that I'd be posting some 'naughty' stories here. This is all about the fun in the sands and water. After our wedding, we flew off to Aklan to spend 5 blissful (and stress-free) days at Bora. It's our first visit here for both Myke and I so we were pretty excited. So after the ceremony at the Manila Cathedral, it was time to let loose and celebrate! Here's the other half of our wedding journal. Enjoy! ♥ | Whoops. Mind the puddles. | | Our guests thought we've skipped the dove release part. |
| But we did it right before we headed up to the reception. | You've seen some of the details. So now, I'll share some more wedding photos and some anecdotes on what had transpired last October 23, 2010 :) ******** | 4am was my wake up time. | | By 4.30, Cel and her team was already in my room getting ready to primp us up. | | Suppliers find their own niche in my rather populated room =) | | The bride | | The groom |
I got a parcel this afternoon... It's a copy of the W@W 2010 Primer. I was given a copy for my contribution - which was a quote under "Nicest thing done to you.." Note from the author: I'm happy to inform you though that my MOH (Maid of Honor) was indeed present on my wedding day.. sans jet lag =) I don't know about you but there's something about lace that evokes romance and grace for me. While I was searching for inspiration ideas for my wedding gown, I was so torn between going all out - ruffles, beading, laces and sticking to clean simple lines. But I was sure of one thing: no ball gown for me. No siree!
Well, after showing you some of our wedding portraits, you know which one I chose *wink* My wedding dress was a simple gown with soft lines and detailed beadings on the straps and bodice. I stuck with this design because it is contemporary and yet elegant. But.. there wasn't a shred of lace on my dress and I was itching to have something in lace on my ensemble. I have also wanted to wear gloves for the wedding but I tried to veer away from the opera type gloves that one would usually see on brides. Again, I wanted a contemporary touch so I decided to choose between fingerless and fingertip gloves. |
