I'm back! I'm back! :)

I know there's been a lull on my blogging recently. I haven't been able to blog since I was having problems with the Mac book. And then there was the case of me feeling tired and sleepy all the time - probably due to my present "state" about which I'd dedicate a separate post. :)

So, while my hubby is still tweaking our new PC. I'd post some teaser pics on what I'd be coming up on my next posts..
| My experiment with soba noodles. |
I'll be sharing a quick, easy recipe for sudden noodle cravings.

This was the last dessert I made before hubby took to dieting.  I still have a few stocks in the kitchen cabinet to make a few more desserts but I'm pacing myself since Myke refuses to eat carbs and sweets. If I would happen to cook food more than the usual, it's up to (poor) me to eat it all up. :(  Unless perhaps it's blueberry cheesecake which is Myke's favorite. He he.

Anyway, I made this because I know Myke loves Oreos. But instead of just layering the grahams, I adopted the crumbly crust that I used to make the Mango Royale.

The disadvantage of having the mall near where you go to work is that you are always being tempted to look around and window shop. And then you'd fret when you see something that took your fancy and are wanting to buy it.

The box that holds all my accessory is now overflowing. Literally. Some of the bulkier items are stored separately. Though I don't really splurge on trinkets, I do sometimes buy things on impulse. Especially if it's cute and unique. But I do know how to keep my restraints; I don't buy items that are similar to what I already own. But my accessory box is still ready to burst off its hinges from the things I got in there.  Some of which I haven't even worn yet. *sigh*

Anyway, I'd like to share with you some items I have that I really love - charm bracelets, earrings and cocktail rings.

Birthday girl, M is all smiles

Our colleague M had her birthday last Saturday so the whole team decided to give her a surprise lunch treat on Friday. We headed out to Amici at the Ayala Triangle Gardens.

Three of us went ahead to secure seats at the resto while J steered M towards Banapple to buy some muffins. We ordered the Mozzarella Frito and Chorizo e Spinaci pizza ahead so we could have something to munch on when J and M joins us.  When the team were all seated, we added Linguine al Scampi nel Alfredo, Spaghetti White Vongole E Gamberetti Pasta and Arrabiata pizza to our orders.

The appetizer was really good. I love the crunchy exterior and the chewy mozzarella. I would have wanted that they put extra pomodoro sauce on the side :)  The pizza is also good.  The flavors are subtle but still delicioso.

Last week, I've been hankering for coffee buns and I finally satiated my cravings when we went malling. I bought coffee buns from Roti Mum and when we were on your way out, we chanced upon Dough Joe who were offering 50% off on their bread items so we picked out a few to try including their coffee bun. So breads on hand, I decided to compare the two.

I thought I'd share this :)  I took this shot just this morning when we were on our way to our badminton game. I think this was near Taytay Public Market.

It was raining a bit so manong decided to set up his "kitchen" under the dry shelter of, I assume, his truck :)  Funny no?

M, a colleague of mine, has a daughter who is turning 7 this June. Probably due to the fact that I don't have kids yet, I didn't know that 7th birthdays are milestones. So M is planning a lavish "Princess" themed party for her unica hija and she'd been busy researching for ideas for the party.

One of the ideas she had was the invitation. Due to cost-cutting, she wanted to DIY these. She is still torn on how she the presentation would be but she had asked me if I could design the invitation page. She provided me with the (text) contents and some pictures that depicts the look she wanted for the 'royal' invite :)

I decided to give it a try yesterday on my lunch break. I had to do a bit of searching for the fonts that I'd like to use for the invite and had to forego most of the calligraphy type fonts since they aren't readable when they're resized.  My first draft had swirl designs at the top and bottom - like a border for the inivitation body. I had put the crown on top of the letter P in princess for an added touch :)

Today, hubby had commenced his "Down to 170 lbs." trim down program.  I mentioned in a few of my posts how we like to eat and as a result, growing waistlines and increasing weight. I don't want to sound like a hypocrite but I confess that I also have tendecies to binge. Just the other day, I steamed some siomai to go with my instant pancit canton. I left half of the batch for hubby but somehow, I managed to down a few more of the tasty dumplings before I went to bed. Ugh.

Anyway, I always scold Myke whenever I catch him snacking on chocolates, cupcakes, wafers.. anything sweet actually. Nagging as I might have seemed but I was only concerned for his health. The scolding and reprimanding doesn't always work. And it was only when he checked his weight and the scale tipped to 230 that he finally decided that he should lose a bit of the love handles. I was happy to see that hubby had come to terms with the reality that the preggers looks does not work for him. Ha ha ha. I was also excited to join him on his quest of shedding a few pounds. But I don't think that he has the same idea..

When I asked him on what his "program" would be, he just said he won't be eating anything. But he did ask me to buy him some fruit juices from the grocery. So I guess he meant he'll lessen the carbs intake. And then I remembered the food in the fridge and the kitchen cabinet and  asked Myke what we'll do with it. His answer: "Ikaw na lang ang kakain niyan."Whaaaat?!

Just so you won't think that I'm exaggerating, here's a peek on the contents of our fridge and kitchen cabinet:
