M, a colleague of mine, has a daughter who is turning 7 this June. Probably due to the fact that I don't have kids yet, I didn't know that 7th birthdays are milestones. So M is planning a lavish "Princess" themed party for her unica hija and she'd been busy researching for ideas for the party.
One of the ideas she had was the invitation. Due to cost-cutting, she wanted to DIY these. She is still torn on how she the presentation would be but she had asked me if I could design the invitation page. She provided me with the (text) contents and some pictures that depicts the look she wanted for the 'royal' invite :)
I decided to give it a try yesterday on my lunch break. I had to do a bit of searching for the fonts that I'd like to use for the invite and had to forego most of the calligraphy type fonts since they aren't readable when they're resized. My first draft had swirl designs at the top and bottom - like a border for the inivitation body. I had put the crown on top of the letter P in princess for an added touch :)
Today, hubby had commenced his "Down to 170 lbs." trim down program. I mentioned in a few of my posts how we like to eat and as a result, growing waistlines and increasing weight. I don't want to sound like a hypocrite but I confess that I also have tendecies to binge. Just the other day, I steamed some siomai to go with my instant pancit canton. I left half of the batch for hubby but somehow, I managed to down a few more of the tasty dumplings before I went to bed. Ugh.
Anyway, I always scold Myke whenever I catch him snacking on chocolates, cupcakes, wafers.. anything sweet actually. Nagging as I might have seemed but I was only concerned for his health. The scolding and reprimanding doesn't always work. And it was only when he checked his weight and the scale tipped to 230 that he finally decided that he should lose a bit of the love handles. I was happy to see that hubby had come to terms with the reality that the preggers looks does not work for him. Ha ha ha. I was also excited to join him on his quest of shedding a few pounds. But I don't think that he has the same idea..
When I asked him on what his "program" would be, he just said he won't be eating anything. But he did ask me to buy him some fruit juices from the grocery. So I guess he meant he'll lessen the carbs intake. And then I remembered the food in the fridge and the kitchen cabinet and asked Myke what we'll do with it. His answer: "Ikaw na lang ang kakain niyan." . Whaaaat?!
Just so you won't think that I'm exaggerating, here's a peek on the contents of our fridge and kitchen cabinet:
