Since the renovation is almost done, Myke and I had been busy shopping for household items for our new home especially those that we need to put in the house first before all else as what Filipino tradition called for - santo, bigas, asukal, asin, tubig, mantika at pera. Last Friday after office, we visited Landmark Makati to get a headstart on the shopping.
We bought a 10-kilogram capacity grain storage, some canisters, pots and pans, cutlery, thermos and pillows. Just a few essentials but these little things add up! To think that we haven't covered all the basics yet. Hay, baket kasi hindi ako ang nanalo sa P7M lotto jackpot? Sadness...
*Side kwento: You may wonder why we are looking for a sofa bed instead of just an ordinary couch. Well, as you saw from the design, our bed is at the top bunk. Myke figured that once I get pregnant, it won't be safe for me to climb up and down the bunk. So we opted to look for a sofa bed where I could comfortably sleep in once I got some buns in the oven :P
The sofa bed we got isn't the pull out type or those which backrests are collapsible. Ours is one that has adjustable arm rests; you lay both arm rests flat and voila, you got yourself a bed :) I say it's perfect because you only need extra space to lay out the arms rest (again, I must say that in our case, the less space occupied, the better). You could also lay out only one arm rest and make the other in a reclining angle where you could place you pillow if you want to lie and just read a book.
Too bad, they don't have expandable tables; otherwise, we could have finished most of our furniture in one day :P
*Note: I recommend to those furniture hunting to go visit J. Abad Santos. Some items we saw at SM were being sold there at almost half the price.
