A lot. And I do not exaggerate when I said a lot has happened this past year. And yes I am guilty of not writing on my blog.  I don't know why but whenever I've listed down something I wanted to blog about, I kept putting it off :( Bad. Very bad. I missed blogging so much! So I before we head off to the sub-urbans (where internet connection is nada) for the New Year celeb, I wanted to drop this little post. I can't bear to leave 2012 behind without a proper "end note".

I want to tell you guys that this year had definitely posed some challenges on my personal life but the upside is positive outweighs the negative. And I'm still thankful for the blessings that have come our way. And yes, I am looking forward to the new year with a happy disposition, a positive outlook and a stronger will. :)

So what will you expect next year? You'd probably read more about our baby girl, G. Now a toddler, she is discovering the world and we parents are learning day by day - enjoying the joys and pains of parenthood. I want to put up her own Style Diary category of my blog. I also want to share some of my kikay experience and new finds. And oh, I still owe you some of my own outfit posts and the supplier ratings from Georgie's first birthday! Yep, time to get crackin' on 2013.
From my family to yours, we wish you guys a great 2013! Happy New Year!

M + G + Baby G

You might have been missing my posts here (and I'm hoping you were) and wondering what's up with me. Well, I'm now a mother of a beautiful baby girl :) I know you'd want to know all about Goergie's journey so you could read my blog about that. You might also want to check out the photo gallery of our maternity shoot with Redsheep. And what do you think of the new theme and logo? :) This blog would always be a work in progress so any comments and suggestions are welcome!

Do try to explore the site. You could also sign in my guestbook to let me know you dropped by and leave a comment on my entries.

Enjoy reading! :)

While Myke and I were traversing along Ayala Ave. last week, we happen to spot this vintage car coming out of the Manila Peninsula. It had a bouquet of flowers handing on to its front hood indicating that it was used as a bridal car.

How cute is that trunk? :)
Aahhh.. a wedding. Thinking of the word invokes a lot of memories from our own journey to the altar. The preparations, bookings, deadlines, payments and fittings. Flowers, gowns, confettis and camera flashes. *grin*

And look what we have here! A few seconds after the we spotted the vintage ride, a sleek, black and HUGE Hummer Jeep followed the vehicle queue.

Vintage and modern
Now that vintage and modern at the same time! :)

I'm back! I'm back! :)

I know there's been a lull on my blogging recently. I haven't been able to blog since I was having problems with the Mac book. And then there was the case of me feeling tired and sleepy all the time - probably due to my present "state" about which I'd dedicate a separate post. :)

So, while my hubby is still tweaking our new PC. I'd post some teaser pics on what I'd be coming up on my next posts..
| My experiment with soba noodles. |
I'll be sharing a quick, easy recipe for sudden noodle cravings.

I thought I'd share this :)  I took this shot just this morning when we were on our way to our badminton game. I think this was near Taytay Public Market.

It was raining a bit so manong decided to set up his "kitchen" under the dry shelter of, I assume, his truck :)  Funny no?

Today, hubby had commenced his "Down to 170 lbs." trim down program.  I mentioned in a few of my posts how we like to eat and as a result, growing waistlines and increasing weight. I don't want to sound like a hypocrite but I confess that I also have tendecies to binge. Just the other day, I steamed some siomai to go with my instant pancit canton. I left half of the batch for hubby but somehow, I managed to down a few more of the tasty dumplings before I went to bed. Ugh.

Anyway, I always scold Myke whenever I catch him snacking on chocolates, cupcakes, wafers.. anything sweet actually. Nagging as I might have seemed but I was only concerned for his health. The scolding and reprimanding doesn't always work. And it was only when he checked his weight and the scale tipped to 230 that he finally decided that he should lose a bit of the love handles. I was happy to see that hubby had come to terms with the reality that the preggers looks does not work for him. Ha ha ha. I was also excited to join him on his quest of shedding a few pounds. But I don't think that he has the same idea..

When I asked him on what his "program" would be, he just said he won't be eating anything. But he did ask me to buy him some fruit juices from the grocery. So I guess he meant he'll lessen the carbs intake. And then I remembered the food in the fridge and the kitchen cabinet and  asked Myke what we'll do with it. His answer: "Ikaw na lang ang kakain niyan."Whaaaat?!

Just so you won't think that I'm exaggerating, here's a peek on the contents of our fridge and kitchen cabinet:

One of the items on my to-do list was to polish the look of my blog site specifically the side bar. There used to be a lot of items there - stat counters, blog roll, categories etc. Since my home page (blog) displays my most recent entries, the length of the sidebar looks pretty decent. But when you open a short blog entry, scrolling down to look at the sidebar could be quite tedious. Call me OC but if I personally am bothered by this, I felt that some of my readers would have the same sentiment. For me, it's like a cluttered desk and I don't like a messy workplace :P

So, I made some revisions on my layout and added the spankin' new "About the Author" page. I hope you all like it.

A lot of my recent posts were food related. You'd probably think that this is a food blog but it's not. Well, not entirely dedicated to food but I share whatever foodie adventure we had or stories on my foray into the kitchen.

Cos who doesn't like to eat? ;D

And because of sometimes (over)eating, Myke and I are getting plump. Factor that with the lack of exercise and well, you know what the result is. :P

Apparently, a few people had noticed the 'growth' especially on Myke.  Let me tell you first that Myke's body has a large built and though his tummy was not always flat, it doesn't seem too noticeable. But now, it looked like he's preggers. Ha ha ha!  At home, when he's walking around shirtless, I'd always tease hubby that his tummy is now round, LITERALLY. As if he swallowed a watermelon. And what does he answer with? "E kasi luto ka ng luto e!". Talk about ungrateful. Ha ha ha!

He also told me that he got bigger since he had started eating rice during breakfast. He was used to eating only bread and coffee but I wasn't. I need to have a heavy breakfast because if I ate only bread, I'd be heading straight to the canteen to buy breakfast again by the time I got to the office.  I told him that having a heavy breakfast was better than binging out during dinner. So we made a compromise that we'll alter heavy breakfast with some cereals and then we'll skip dinner altogether. This way, we'd be watching our weight and we'll have longer sleeping hours :)

It is not often that post a rant. In fact, I could not recall a blog entry that I ranted about something or someone. Even when someone had tried to pick a fight with me on my own Facebook wall, I'd kept mum about it especially on my blog. Why? Well, for the whole FB debacle..hmm.. etiquette? Perhaps. But mainly because I wanted to keep the positive vibe in my blog intact. But this afternoon, I had suddenly realized that if this is indeed a personal blog - MY personal blog that accounts on what happens in my day to day life, it wouldn't be realistic that it would be all about sugar, spice and everything nice. Surely at some point in my life, I was pissed off or annoyed. But then, it's still a matter of choice if I want to write about it or not.

What triggered this whole "sharing my rant" episode anyway? Well it all happened on my commute home this afternoon...

Since I've moved with hubby, I was spared from contuining to elbow my way thru the maze that is MRT. On times that I had to take public transport, I have to hitch a ride on a bus. So this afternoon at past five, I jump into one of the buses on its usual queue at Makati. Too bad on my (and the other passengers) part, another bus of the same line had immediately pulled up behind us. This was noted by our conductor and told the driver. The next thing I knew, our bus was speeding thru Ayala Ave. I instantly knew that our bus driver was trying to beat the other bus into getting into the next (bus) stop. While we were again on queue on the next bus loading station, the other bus had (unsuccessfully) tried to cut-in in front of the queue. Well, the other bus must have picked up quite a few passengers along the way when it went ahead of us because we caught up with it along Buendia Avenue. Ang naisip ko naman e malamang mag-uunahan naman sila na makarating naman sa terminal (route end) para mauna sila sa pila para sa susunod the biyahe. I guess I wasn't wrong. Because our bus kept its speedy progress and kept its position in the innermost lane. So some of my poor co-passengers who had to get off had to do so in the middle of the highway. Seriously Manong Driver, ikaw kaya ang makipagpatintero sa mga bus, truck at kotse sa kalsada? :(

Nowadays, a lot of people have become figure-conscious. I and a few of my colleagues are no exception. With the gastronomic feast we've had over the past Holidays, it's no wonder that our bodies might be showing bulges that are better off to be on some livestock or somebody else who is "pilit na nagpapataba pero walang effect". Hmp! <-- Bitter? :P

Rather than complain, my colleagues had the idea of holding their own "The Biggest Loser" edition to finally work on the unwanted fats. To sweeten the (or)deal, participants decided to chip in a certain amount of money and the accumulated cash will be the prize for the winner.  The challenge? Be the one who will lose weight the most in a span of 5 months.

Now to make sure no one slacks around, the loser (the one who had the least weight lost) will take the 2nd and 3rd placers on a treat. Sana lang e wag pakainin sa Eat-All-You-Can resto. Sayang lang ang trinabaho ng limang buwan. Hi hi hi!

Official weigh in was last January 12. The four 'contenders' had agreed to have their "Before" pictures taken so we could see their progress(?). For kahihiyaan reasons, I have purposely hidden their faces (ha ha ha! Peace, guys!).

So who will be the winner? We'll find out and I'm gonna post updates on this, you betcha ;-)

P.S. Anyone who wanna place bets with me, you may send me a private message. Ha ha ha!
*Note: Author with consent from the four participants to post their mug shots.. err.. photos.
