This is NOT how you should babywear your baby. Ha! A little after I gave birth, I bought a ring sling so I could babywear G. I chose the sling since I thought it was easier to bring along compared to the other carriers. However, I still have not "mastered" the proper way of using our sling. The first few attempts at home had me and my baby slick with sweat - I had to work my way with the fabric and sling without dropping my baby. Next try, I had someone "assist" me with adjusting the panels so G would fit snugly but in the end, we left the sling at home since we were spending too much time with it when we were already late for our appointment. But still, I do not want to give up. I want to babywear my daughter and if it takes a one-on-one tutorial, then so be it. Add Comment ![]() Birthday girl, M is all smiles Our colleague M had her birthday last Saturday so the whole team decided to give her a surprise lunch treat on Friday. We headed out to Amici at the Ayala Triangle Gardens. Three of us went ahead to secure seats at the resto while J steered M towards Banapple to buy some muffins. We ordered the Mozzarella Frito and Chorizo e Spinaci pizza ahead so we could have something to munch on when J and M joins us. When the team were all seated, we added Linguine al Scampi nel Alfredo, Spaghetti White Vongole E Gamberetti Pasta and Arrabiata pizza to our orders. The appetizer was really good. I love the crunchy exterior and the chewy mozzarella. I would have wanted that they put extra pomodoro sauce on the side :) The pizza is also good. The flavors are subtle but still delicioso.
There's only a few reality shows that I really follow - Project Runway, America's Next Top Model, Top Chef, Amazing Race, among others. For television series, even fewer. I ♥ True Blood and Glee. I know there are a lot more others out there that is really worth watching but I'm limiting myself. Otherwise, I'd be sitting in front of the computer screen having TV series marathons every other day. :P
When I caught the teaser of Boardwalk Empire at HBO, I told myself that I'll definitely watch that. What intrigued me was the male lead, Steve Buscemi. I've seen him mostly on comedy flicks and I wanted to see if he would be able to play the part. I hadn't known then he had played a role in The Sopranos. Talk about living under a rock! Ha ha! And then there's the setting. It was set in the roarin' 1920's - an era which I loved. I liked the dresses and the T-strap shoes, hats and headpieces.. glamorous! So one Saturday morning, I settled myself in front of the computer and watch the first season of Boardwalk Empire :) Yep, it's the Chinese New Year. And the festivities of the Chinese New Year celebration is what I missed when my family moved north. I've spent most of my teens living in Chinatown so I'd always looked forward to the sights and sounds of the Chinese celebration.
Myke and I went to Binondo yesterday to buy some rice cakes to bring home to my family. Chinese rice cakes or tikoy had come a long way from the usual white and brown variety. ![]() You probably might be ready to puke already with the wedding related pictures and stories I've been posting lately so I thought to share something fun. But... still wedding related. Ha ha ha! Gotcha! Thing is the only whites you'd see here is not of my gown but of white clouds and sand. Yep, it's our honeymoon in Boracay! :D But before I go on, don't think that I'd be posting some 'naughty' stories here. This is all about the fun in the sands and water. After our wedding, we flew off to Aklan to spend 5 blissful (and stress-free) days at Bora. It's our first visit here for both Myke and I so we were pretty excited. So after the ceremony at the Manila Cathedral, it was time to let loose and celebrate! Here's the other half of our wedding journal. Enjoy! ♥ | Whoops. Mind the puddles. | | Our guests thought we've skipped the dove release part. |
| But we did it right before we headed up to the reception. | You've seen some of the details. So now, I'll share some more wedding photos and some anecdotes on what had transpired last October 23, 2010 :) ******** | 4am was my wake up time. | | By 4.30, Cel and her team was already in my room getting ready to primp us up. | | Suppliers find their own niche in my rather populated room =) | | The bride | | The groom |
I don't know about you but there's something about lace that evokes romance and grace for me. While I was searching for inspiration ideas for my wedding gown, I was so torn between going all out - ruffles, beading, laces and sticking to clean simple lines. But I was sure of one thing: no ball gown for me. No siree!
Well, after showing you some of our wedding portraits, you know which one I chose *wink* My wedding dress was a simple gown with soft lines and detailed beadings on the straps and bodice. I stuck with this design because it is contemporary and yet elegant. But.. there wasn't a shred of lace on my dress and I was itching to have something in lace on my ensemble. I have also wanted to wear gloves for the wedding but I tried to veer away from the opera type gloves that one would usually see on brides. Again, I wanted a contemporary touch so I decided to choose between fingerless and fingertip gloves. I hate to admit it but I am addicted to watching our SDE (same day edit) video over and over.... and over again. Once Guj uploaded our video, I downloaded it on my laptop and had converted another so I could save and play it on my phone. Talk about being an adik! :P Myke had been rolling his eyes at me (over and over again) whenever he catches me watching the clip on my phone. But I. don't. care. *stick out tongue* The song used was actually Myke's pick. It is entitled "Closer" by Travis. He he he.) ****** I just got the CDs of our raw photos and videos from Team Redsheep. I ♥ our P/V (photo/video) team! Myke and I still had to sort out the pictures and choose only a handful (gulp!) that will be included in our album. For now, I'd like to share some pictures of wedding details. I've removed the Details page here in my blogsite and made them into a slideshow. Some pictures feature my DIYs. Highlights from the wedding to be posted soon. Promise! :) ♥ *Contents of slideshow are raw photos from Team Redsheep. |
