Well, the movie was pretty ok for me. I was intrigued (and a bit disturbed) with the human 'farm' set and the coffee shop (where human blood is used as cream) setting was pretty amusing. The acting was a bit lack-luster though. But, I'd still probably pop pur Daybreakers CD again in our player if I got tired of watching re-runs on TV :)
Ever since "Interview with the Vampire", there wasn't much of vampire movies made until "Twilight" mania struck. And since vampires and werewolves are all the craze right now, I became a bit skeptical on horror flicks especially if they typically involve (dead or undead) men growing out fangs and claws and basically mauling some other poor, hapless guy. I must admit though that I got curious when I saw the trailer for Daybreakers. The story was set in 2019 where humans have turned into vampires because of a disease. Humans are then hunted down and were basically made into "blood cows"; they were the main supply of blood for the vampire population. While the scientists haven't found a blood substitute yet, a vampire had accidentally found the cure to vampirism and had sought the help of another vampire/ hematologist to help them replicate and spread the cure.
