So rather then chucking them out completely, I had the idea of reworking them. Sayang rin naman kasi. I remembered that our godfather bought some roast pork (asado) during his visit. The amount of the asado is again a bit much for our few days eating so I thought of using some of it for the pan de sal.
Ta-da! Mini-'asado' burgers for breakfast! He he he. I managed to salvage the pan de sals and nothing went to waste :)
tofu
ground pork
ginger
garlic
shallots
rice wine
cooking oil
Lee Kum Kee Ma Po Sauce
fish sauce, to taste
green onion, for garnish
I just followed the cooking procedure on Home Cooking Rocks, skipping of course the steps in making the sauce:
Heat the cooking oil. Add the ground pork and cook until the meat changes color. Add the garlic, ginger, shallots and Ma Po Sauce. Season with fish sauce then pour in the Shao Xing rice wine. Bring to the boil. Add the tofu cubes, stir lightly, lower the heat, cover and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes.
Transfer to a serving platter and sprinkle the onion leaves on top.
A very easy to prepare dish. Thumbs up!
