Chinese food for speedy recovery: David's Tea House

Hubby took a leave today to take care of me (how sweet is that? :P) especially after my accident yesterday. We decided to go to our clinic after lunch today for post-accident assessment.

We were referred to a physical therapist at St. Luke's. After a few tests, the nice doc said everything is normal, no need for CT scan :) I guess you could say that my brain is still intact. Thank God! He he. She did advised me to take therapy sessions to relieve the tension on my neck. So I'm scheduled to have 6 PT sessions probably in the next two weeks.

Myke and I were both famished (having skipped lunch because we ate a late breakfast) by the time we were done - having gone back and forth to our company clinic to get the necessary papers for the referrals. After the check-ups, we had to drop by Ongpin to have some of my jewelries cleaned and so we decided to have our (uber) late lunch/early supper at David's Tea House at T. Mapua.

Despite having a 'bukol', still happy to dig in to our food :)

We ordered their Chao Fan rice, Dimsum platter and David's Specialty in a Pot.

The food is quite good. The Chao Fan is a meal itself - with plenty of cold cuts and sausage bits. I liked their David's specialty which was a dish composed of an assortment of seafood - squid, scallops, shrimps, sea cucumbers with mushrooms and tofu in a rich sauce. I was quite full already so I wasn't able to eat all of my share on our Dimsum platter which had their shrimp siomai, scallop dumpling, bean curd roll, sharksfin dumpling and beef balls. It had two of each so it's great for sharing :) Our total bill was around Php650 (I had an additional order of iced tea).

It was Myke's first time to eat at David's and he really liked their dishes so it's gonna be one of our dining choices when we are in Chinatown. Oh, you could walk a few steps to Ongpin and there's a stall near the corner that sells fresh sugarcane juice for Php15 a cup. Very refreshing! :)

Sis, maraming pwedeng kainan sa Ongpin. But I dont think na makakainan niyo lahat ng isang araw :)

Punta kayo sa Manosa na na-mention ko sa isang blog entry ko dito. Wah Sun sa may Avenida is also famous - parati namin order ang Torta Conrejo (Crabmeat). Malapit sa T. Mapua cor Ongpin, andun ang fresh veggie lumpia from Eastern Garden. Panalo :)

Lakarin niyo ang Ongpin from Sta Cruz derecho going to Binondo Church, maraming kainan at jewelry shops (ha ha ha).

Balitaan mo ako ha!

Hi, Madz! Yep, you should have a pigout session sa Chinatown. Though medyo hinay lang. May mga Chinese food na loaded with MSG o kaya too oily :P
