It's a great morning and as I sip my morning coffee, I wanted to share what I've been busy on last night. Here's a sneak peek on our guest book layout :)
The text might be familiar to some. It's the poem "I Carry Your Heart With Me" by E. E. Cummings which I had spread out across the book.
I got ahold of our engagement pictures last night and as soon as I got home, I popped the CD into our player . I couldn't help smiling and laughing as I remembered how we looked silly (especially when trying to blow our bubble gums) on some of the shots but we had fun (under the sun, literally. He he.). Here's some of the outtakes and shots of the props we used (infos have been mentioned on this post).
Now, how do we choose which shots we want on our engagement album? :P

I'm sore and aching. Work is piling up. I need a new manicure. And it's just Monday. So what the hell I'd been up to?
Last Saturday I met up with my BFF Tina and HER set of female entourage (yes, we are both getting hitched this year :P) for measurement takings. We headed to Divisoria where she will have our dresses made. I was kinda dreading this because I am still in a denial that I had gained weight.
'No' to this?
Uh-oh. That is not a good sign especially if your wedding is only 83 days away! But I have to face the fact and now, I must maintain my resolve to stop myself from lining up in a fastfood counter and ordering their super-sized, stuff-all-the-food-you-can-in-your-belly (but hey still budget-friendly) meals. That means no to Dairy Queen blizzards, my favorite pastas, smoothies, chicken.. *sniff*sniff*
But can I do it? Can I avoid temptation? Let's just say the pint-sized Choco Marble ice cream I had yesterday commemorated my regime. Har har!
We are down to 2 digits and we finally got to book our emcee and florist. Myke and I met with them (along with our coordinator, Ricci) last Monday. Yes! *pump fist*
First off, we got Kim Tan as our emcee. We actually already had someone lined up but we had to change because we will be having some Chinese guests. So, Myke and I decided to get someone who will be able to speak in Chinese so as not to make them feel leftout.
Kim is really bubbly and during our initial meeting, she already had some great ideas for our reception. I also recognized her as the bride who was featured at Weddings at Work for having the fire truck as a bridal car (cool!). Kim got details of our wedding and we initially drafted our programme for the reception. It's also kinda relieving to be able to speak to someone in Chinese cos I sometimes talk in Tag-nese (Tagalong+Chinese) :P Anyway, we will be setting another meeting a few weeks before THE day to finalize everything :)
After Kim left, we talked to Tita Belle of Biboy's Flower Shop. I had spent the morning researching and reading about flowers since I have limited knowledge on these. I already had what flower I wanted on my bouquet but I had no idea what else to put there and what flowers would be used for the entourage. So I copied the pictures from the Net to my phone and showed it to her during the meeting.
A little over a hundred days and it's our big day. Myke and I have been very busy this past few weeks - we have had to finalize the venue for the engagement shoot, coordinate with Ricci regarding the emcee for the wedding reception, had our engagement shoot and sat down with our Hizon's planner for detailing and food tasting.
For the detailing with Hizon's, I was almost clueless so Apple's tips (based on her detailing experience) that she had posted at W @W was really helpful. I'd be posting here the details that you would have to decide on during detailing so other would-be brides wouldn't be so overwhelmed.
Our coordinator, Ricci had made the necessary arrangements with Drew (our planner) regarding the food tasting and detailing. I haven't met Drew before we had our detailing. We only corresponded thru texts and he is prompt in replying to my queries. Anyway, Drew was very helpful during our detailing last July 5. In the morning, he sent me a text that he had ask their chef to prepare their bestsellers so we could try them and see which dishes we want for our menu. Nice :)
We are done with our engagement session with Redsheep! :) It was a really fun experience despite that weeks before our scheduled shoot, a lot of things have happened: two weeks ago, our dog bit me on my leg. So my right leg was swollen to my ankles, apart from the nasty wound at the back on my right knee. Four days before the shoot, we had to let go of our indoor shoot venue due to some scheduling conflict. Day before the shoot, CJ (my dog) died.
So you see, I had the dilemma of whether to postpone the shoot or not. But I decided to hold out, my ankle is back to normal except for the ugly bruise and gash on my leg plus I thought that we might not have a better shot on having a sunny day for an outdoor shoot since it's already the rainy season. Despite the odds, Myke and I trusted God in making my leg better and that He'll bless us with clear skies for our e-session with Redsheep. And, He did :)
Busy, busy, busy. That's what I'm probably gonna be in the next few months.
124 days! We are pretty much multi-tasking right now (or rather multi-appointments) so I might need some vitamin supplements soon for extra energy. Ha ha!
Last Saturday, we hit 3 locations. First off, we dropped by Ruel's shop since I wanted to see the gowns ever since he notified me that the female entourage could now drop by for the fittings. The dresses look great. I hope my girls would like them :)
Next, Myke and I went to check another prospective e-session venue, this time in the South area. We wanted to find an alternative shoot location that would be nearer our indoor venue. The place is pretty ok though it comes with a fee *sigh*. Anyway, we might be re-scheduling our e-session as there might be a lot of people around if we shoot on a weekend. So, e-session is in the works. Yay! And.. I was able to help Myke come up with his outfits for the shoot! Double yay!
As October approaches, Myke and I seem to be encountering some unexpected setbacks. A number of people that are now on our guest list are Chinese so we had to make adjustments, nothing major though. We might have to reconsider the invitation layout since we would be including a page for Chinese invitation. There might also be changes on our emcee. Well, we are working on it though.
While waiting for Tina last Friday, I decided to look around the Ladies' shoe department at SM Megamall. You see, I still haven't found my "party" shoes for the wedding. I saw some plum shoes there. I especially liked the slingbacks with the gold lined rosettes but I don't think it'll go well with my dress. Oh well, the search is still on.
