Last Saturday I met up with my BFF Tina and HER set of female entourage (yes, we are both getting hitched this year :P) for measurement takings. We headed to Divisoria where she will have our dresses made. I was kinda dreading this because I am still in a denial that I had gained weight.
But can I do it? Can I avoid temptation? Let's just say the pint-sized Choco Marble ice cream I had yesterday commemorated my regime. Har har!
Anyway, Tina mentioned that she's contemplating of DIY'ing her invitations and had an idea of using scrolls. While we were walking around Tabora and browsing at the street
stalls, I happened to show her a wire scroll holder that she could use and she loved it! She loved it even more when she found out how much it is. After some waiting time, we were now lugging around Divisoria two plastic bags full of wire scroll holders. We had had to juggle the holders, our bags and my umbrella (and it was a poor maneouver) so we were pretty much damp by the time we got on a jeepney to the train station. Buying those scrolls were totally out of whim so we had the dilemma on how Tina would bring them all home (I was helping her carry half of the scrolls which was 50 pieces!). So I had to call Myke for a favor and by the time we got to Santolan, we had a chauffeur to bring us to Ruel's shop and then Megamall :)
Tina was bitin on our Divisoria adventure (she was happy to find some items there that she could use as reception centerpieces and also doubling as souveniers) so she had me promise to accompany her again there. I told her she hadn't really scrounge around Divisoria and we would have to allot a day for her to really experience Divi shopping :)
My girls are (almost) ready
We had to cut our Divisoria exploration short because Tina had to fit her gown. Two of my secondary sponsors went to Ruel's earlier in the day for their fitting and I was really happy with the outcome. All of my female entourage who had their fittings had positive outcomes. The gowns fit them perfectly and only with minor alterations :). I was personally there for my mom's and Tina's fitting so I could attest how well the dresses fit :) I just advised my girls to bring the shoes they'd be wearing on their next fitting so Ruel could make final adjustments on the hemline. I'm happy for my girls but now I'm getting antsy for my own fitting. I'm really excited!
Sunday I met up with Myke to discuss the revisions we.. I guess I wanted for our invitations. Wink had sent us our invitation layouts last Friday and I got all excited. My compulsion to details however, got the better of me and five minutes after Esmie sent the layouts, I was jotting down items for revision already :P Myke is all ok already with the first draft but apparently, we had the name of his best man incomplete! But all is well because Myke and I reviewed the layouts together yesterday and agreed on what revisions have to be made.
That part of the agenda done, we tackled our guest list and budget next. Reality is we have to keep our guest list for ballooning out of control since we only have a targeted number of pax. We made a few compromise but it really didn't make much dent on our list. So we would have to re-visit that again in a few weeks since people (who were advised forehand) might still decline our invitation. Call it instinct but I have a feeling that working our that list would be major stress-inducer. I might have to reach for some 'comforting' ice cream when that happens but for now, I got to focus my mind on more pressing details and that would be the nail polish color that I would use later :P
