Withe temperature in Manila hitting 39 degrees, it was no wonder why I was sweating like a pig when my good friend, Shiela and I scouted Divisoria last Saturday for some
wedding paraphernalias. We met up first at the LRT 2 Katipunan station so I could accompany her to my couturier and have her measurements taken (Shiela's my one and only bridesmaid :) ). Ruel also gave me a swatch of champagne cloth that I could give to our Ninangs as color reference for their dresses. Then we had lunch first at Gateway so we could also catch up. As usual, it was a laugh trip especially when Shiela's dishing about her dating adventures. At about past 1 pm, we headed to Divisoria armed with my check list (of things to buy). First off, we passed thru Tutuban mall to check out some ties for our male entourage. When we were still residing in Manila, I used to visit Divisoria to shop for cheap accessories and clothing but I don't venture out to see the rest of the stalls. So I was really impressed with the dresses and gowns I saw at wedding section/stalls at Tutuban. Some are really nice and do not look tacky at all (I'm not sure though on the craftsmanship cos I didn't check the garments up close). It's definitely worth checking out especially if you do not want to splurge on your wedding or your entourage's dresses. Well, we had no luck in our seach for skinny ties. We actually saw some stalls selling ties but I couldn't find those that would pass my.. uhmm.. taste :D |
